REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) | 2012

BBB is now accepting presentation and seminar proposals for 2012 from our Accredited Businesses that will equip fellow Accredited Businesses as well as consumers with practical information and tools.

 

The benefitsof being a speaker include the following:

*Showcase your expertise and position yourself as an expert among industry peers

*Gain exposure to a wide audience of business owners and decision makers

*Contribute to the general public and business community with dissemination of valuable knowledge and resources

*Acknowledged as a partner of BBB, bringing this educational session available for all participants

 

Your BBB supports consumers and businesses. We have two different markets for which we solicit proposals:

                                For Consumers: “Smart Shopper Series” – Video submission only*

                                For Businesses: “Business Development Series” (guidelines and checklist below)

                                               

“SMART SHOPPER SERIES” VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

We welcome submission of consumer-oriented videos to be considered and featured on our www.mbc.bbb.org homepage’s BBB Video Player and/or on the BBB YouTube Channel.

 

Videos should meet the following requirements:

·        1 – 3 minutes in length

·        Video designed for the purpose of educating consumers with an industry tip (e.g.,hiring a roofer, choosing a Smartphone or how to ensure it’s secure, choosing a cellphone plan that’s right for you, buying a laptop, hiring a mover, choosing an auto repair shop)

 

Videos that attempt to market or sell a product will not be considered.

 

“BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SERIES” PROPOSAL GUIDELINES

Selection will be based upon a RFP whose offer will be the most advantageous to BBB Accredited Business or consumer audience in terms of relevance, suitability, functionality and other factors as specified elsewhere in this RFP.

 

The submitted “Business Development Series” proposals should include each of the following sections:

1. Presentation Synopsis – brief summary outline to be used for marketing purposes

2. Approach and Methodology (i.e., how you plan to present the information, with consideration of suitability to your topic and effectiveness for audience)

 

Presentations should meet the following requirements:

·        0.5 – 2 hours in length

o       Presentation to fit a morning, lunch or evening session (e.g., BBB Business Buddies,Management Training, etc.)

o       Refreshmentswill be provided to attendees

·        Delivered by a person with a passion for speaking and strong presentation and facilitation skills

·        Presentation designed for an audience of 30 people

 

Presentations that attempt to market or sell a product will not be considered.

 

If you are willing to host the event at your own facility, please provide the following information:

·        Location

·        Room capacity and layout

·        Parking availability

 

We encourage RFP submissions from BBB Accredited Businesses throughout our service area in BC, including Thompson Okanagan and Prince George.

 

BBB seminars and workshops are provided solely for the purpose of education and information. Presentations by our speakers typically take the following format:

·        Overview of the current situation/concerns (e.g., sustainability in the workplace; marketing for small business)

·        How this situation/concern impacts a business (small-medium to large businesses) and its bottom line

·        What cost-effective options/strategies are available for businesses to consider

·         How these options could contribute positively (e.g., environmental/business sustainability, support from clients and employees, branding, etc.) to the business operation

·        Q&A period

 

An evaluation is conducted at the end of each seminar for participants to provide constructive feedback, helpful to the speaker as well as BBB’s organization and planning of such events.

 

PROPOSAL CHECKLIST

All proposals must contain the following information in as much detail as possible:

·        Title of presentation

·        Format of presentation

·        Presenter(s) name, title(s) and/or occupation(s)

·        Presenter(s) bio and photo

·        Description of presentation content

·        Promotional statement

·        Audio/visual support needed

·        Presentation materials (i.e., handouts)

·        Maximum two pages

 

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

Videos and proposals must be received at the BBB office no later than 3:00 pm, Friday, October 14, 2011.

We thank all our Accredited Businesses for their time and submissions. Presentations will be evaluated by the BBB Communications Committee and to be assigned to a BBB event as available for 2012. Successful candidates will be notified of the committee decision by November 2011.
